campus cool

Now that we're more than half way through September, the weather has definitely cooled down. Despite the constant sunshine and clear skies, the weather has definitely felt a bit brisk. To be honest, I kind of enjoy not feeling drenched in my own sweat as I race to all my classes and do my groceries. It's the perfect time to pull out your favourite leather jacket and crisp button up shirt. Who else better to pull off these looks than my favourite Q'BFFI Speaker's team! Meet Robyn and Mike:

(Leather Jacket - Talie, Jeans - American Apparel, Cami - Zara, Grey flats - Fairy Tales are True)

(Button up shirt - Lacoste, Jeans - APC New Standard, High tops - Lacoste, Sunglasses - Shwood, Backpack - Herschel)

Robyn and Mike have been working together for the past seven months to round up the best speakers we can have for our conference coming up in 4 weeks. (Including international model Stacey McKenzie!) Together, I would say they are the epitome of campus cool. Robyn definitely keeps it clean with her "perfect shade of brown" leather jacket and Mike without a doubt answers the age old debate of whether or not guys should wear their baggy jeans to their knees. (That answer is no if you didn't get it.)

Let's see if you get spotted on campus with these perfect staples!

OH YEAH. Topshop now officially ships to Canada for a cool $12. Just thought I'd share.

mucho love,

summer-to-fall trends

So it seems that summer is finally coming to an end, and that means school is starting for most, we get to start bringing out that new fall wardrobe we’ve all been waiting to wear, and most importantly our blog is back in business! Before I get too ahead of myself (and pull out the boots and cardigans I have been itching for since the middle of August), I definitely will be holding onto those summer trends a little longer as we still have the sunshine and who says you can’t change them up as the seasons progress? So speaking of those summer-to-fall trends... let me introduce you to one of our co-chairs of Q’BFFI, Priti.

(American Apparel top, H&M harem pants)

Having travelled Europe for 4 months this past winter, Priti was a step ahead when it came to fashion in Canada. In this you can see her wearing the infamous Harem pants, which I have become a huge fan of! You can dress them up, you can dress them down, they have made it through the summer months and are continuing through fall, so really, what’s not to love about them?

Not exactly sure how to wear them? Check out the pictures below and you will be rocking them in no time.

We are super excited to be blogging again so make sure to keep checking back for new updates and trends!

Ciao,

Carling ♥

different denim

Since this is our very first post, I wanted to introduce who WE are:

Queen's Business Forum on the Fashion Industry (aka Q'BFFI) is Canada's premier
undergraduate fashion conference. Our two day conference is in its 6th year and exposes undergrad students to the different business facets of the most dynamic, fast-paced, and exciting industry. This year's executive is a group of fun, classy and amazingly talented individuals from Queen's University (who you will all meet throughout this blog!)

Our blog, Business with Pleasure, will truly feature the pleasures of the fashion world and all the business that goes along with it. We'll also be giving you updates about our conference that will be held on October 15th-17th, 2010! So stay posted because the countdown is on and you can also find us at qbffi.com!

So firstly, meet Carling from Winnipeg, Manitoba:
(American Apparel Chambray Jumpsuit, forever21 sunglasses)

Carling will also be posting to this blog alongside myself, Vi from Vancouver, BC:

(forever21 Acid Wash Denim Dress, H&M jacket, Gap white shirt)

As Marketing, IT, and Publications Officers for Q'BFFI, Carling and I will be keeping you posted. Coincidentally, we both decided to wear light-washed denim pieces to the library one sunny day in Kingston.

Inspiration?

So easy to wear in sunny weather! Hopefully the sun comes out for all of Canada in the next few weeks!

xx,
Vi
